Key Requirements of PP Resin for Spunbound Nonwoven

Spunbound lines run fast and unforgiving. Five resin properties determine whether your line runs clean at 500 m/min — or stops every shift for broken filaments and web defects.

High-Speed Spinnability

The resin must form and draw stable filaments at 400–600 m/min without breakage. Melt strength and rheology tuning are critical to line uptime.

Fiber Uniformity

Consistent filament denier across the die produces even web formation — directly controlling fabric basis weight, tensile strength, and MD/CD balance.

Narrow MFR Tolerance

Spunbound Nonwoven

The primary application. Continuous PP filaments are extruded, drawn, laid into a web, and calender-bonded into fabric in a single high-speed process.

Hygiene & Medical

Diaper top sheets, sanitary napkins, adult incontinence products, surgical gowns, drapes, coveralls, and face mask components. Skin-contact safety and barrier performance are critical.

Processing

Processing Recommendations for HP565S

HP565S is designed for high-speed spunbound lines. The settings below cover the typical operating window; optimize based on your specific die geometry, quench air system, and calender configuration.

Die Temperature Stability

For SMS lines, maintain die temperature within ±2 °C to preserve filament denier uniformity — the single most important factor in fabric tensile consistency.

Drying

Although PP is non-hygroscopic, a short drying pass at 80 °C for 2–3 hours removes surface moisture that can cause filament breaks and web defects at high line speeds.
